The tale of the invisible little girl...

The Tales Series

She always sits by herself at the back of the class, in a shabby pinafore dress that saw better days.
Whenever she raises her hand to answer, the teacher ignores her. At lunch, she stays alone, invisble.
At home, no one notices her either, all too busy and sorry.
Her favourite hiding place is her mother's room, now cold and emtpy. There is a picture of a smiling woman and a pretty little girl who looks just like her.
She vaguely remembers that the little girl drowned. That night, her mother stopped smiling and walked into the sea after her.

The tale of the purple cardigan...

The Tales Series

Nanna has worn the purple cardigan everyday for fifty years, reminder of a magical night with a young minstrel, 1970, Isle of Wight.
They snuggled under it, keeping warm.
Alas, the moving crowd separated them by morning. She only knew his name.
She told her grand-children the story many times, as to keep the memory alive.
Today, on her 72's birthday, they have a special surprise.
As door opens, she turns around and gasps in wonder.
In the doorway, an elderly gentleman stands, now famous musician, clutching awkwardly the chiffon scarf she gave him. He'd never forgotten her either.

The seed became a beautiful dandelion with many seeds of its own.
Soon, birds and animals flocked to their land and the earth revived.

The tale of the lotus flower...

The Tales Series

In my dream, I was walking with my beloved along the grassy banks of the river.
The dream changed. He was waving goodbye, his boat gliding away. I ran but I couldn't catch up. I fell into the murky waters, weeping so much, I became a lotus flower.
My beloved returned, a raven haired beauty by his side. Demanding, she pointed to me. Unknowingly, he scooped me from the waters. As he held me, he felt a great sadness. Angry, his lover threw me overboard.
My beloved cried in anguish and jumped.
The boat vanished. Only two white lotuses remained...

The tale of the little sad puppy...

The Tales Series

I sit at the back, sad. Today was open day. They came, looked at us, and the luckiest ones found good homes. I've been here forever but I haven't had such luck. They like me at first but then, they say No.
The last visitors are leaving. Then, I see her. I fall in love immediately. I will our eyes to meet. She turns, see me and runs back.
I whimper, limp miserably to her, eyes downcast, my bad leg trailing behind. She won't want me now. But she reaches out to me, saying:
'You're coming home with me, Beautiful'.
