Can't Feel

I can't feel my hands anymore.
The things I use to reach out,
reach out into the world.
I can't feel them anymore.
Perhaps it is a lapse,
I'll get the feeling back soon.
More likely, it is the burns.
They cover my hands
from all the times of reaching out.
Reaching out into the world,
a world that is too hot.
Blazing hot with contempt,
with anger, with annoyance,
all of which is directed towards me,
me and my delicate hands.
I can't feel my hands anymore.
As for the rest of me,
it is sure to follow soon.
