Bending and Breaking

The Time Bender was running to save her. He knew what was about to happen: she would walk into a trap and die. He had seen it before, and it almost broke him. However, he knew his power--to reverse time and start events over again--could save her. He just need to go back far enough and it would work. But it didn't work. She fell to ground and the Time Bender collapsed in tears. He couldn't travel back enough to save her. He walked to her and held her lifeless body in his arms. For the tenth time.
