Innocence Lost

We all run towards a distant light in the darkness, wondering if we'll find true happiness in our lives by finding it. However, when we get to the light, we find it's only a flashlight, meant to trick us from our safe, bright homes. Then, we take the flashlight and shine it around as much as possible in the darkness, but eventually the light runs out. After a while, we accept the darkness, and use it to bend the world to our will. And by the time we miss the light, we find that the darkness has made us blind.
