They took me to a poorly lit room. Left me alone. I sunk into the only chair.

My eyes darted to the shine of scissors and blades.

Suddenly two men came in, dressed in white. They wore masks and goggles; I couldn’t understand the hushed voices.

Then the accomplice came forward, blinded me with a shaft of light.
Pulled my mouth open and stuck something to keep me shut.

The other started the drill and knew this would be the end of me.
I could feel the needle, hear the scraping. It pained.

Eventually, the dentist ended the cavity horror.

This made me cringe. I've got some work that needs to be done that I've been putting off, and this didn't help! Very well written, though, Verity.

    Thanks, Christopher.
I've probably had fillings in every tooth by no!.
    Sorry for insulating thoughts

In just over a week I’ve got the torture chair too. Filling has dropped out. Right now I’m eating on one side only just to keep the cavity from starting to hurt and require an emergency session earlier. (Because they charge into your mouth but charge you through the nose for emergency appointments!)

Should have added that it’s very well told, Verity.

Thanks, Neville. I can relate, you nearly lose your appetite munching from one side. Dr Tusk Filler do charge till your wallets are empty;)

Neville, may be late in the day for this but have you tried wedging some sugar free chewing gum into the cavity? Saw the tip I think on a dental site and it did make things more bearable.

Maybe, I have no tooth left where Tusk Filler hasn't drilled.
