Clusters of orange globes ‘mid dark green, against vibrant blue, in hot sun: birth of ‘Mermelada: invention del cielo.’
With mini guidebook, over-sized shades and excitement, Emelda left Gran Melia Colon to photograph oranges growing on trees. Following her romantic spirit she chose a risky day excursion to Africa.
Disaster! No lunch, no pit stops, no photographs, just bellyache, sunstroke and bitter disappointment.
Flown back in an Evacuation chair, smothered in soothing gel she arrived home and there on the table found a thoughtful gift from her neighbour, a jar of marmalade, ‘Neville’s Seville’, made with oranges from Florida.

If the oranges in Neville's Seville were really grown in Florida, then whoever Neville is should demand his money back from Messrs. Wait and Rose!

(Now I recall sipping sherry not far from the Gran Melia Colon and just across the street from the Plaza de Toros. It smelt almost as divine as the haunting scent of orange blossom on the breeze. It was Semana Santo and was unforgettable.)

I meant Semana Santa of course - a slip of the finger. Thanks for jogging my memory of a fascinating week in Seville...begetting a new drabble. :-)
