“I’m just saying, that comet in the news that come close? Kicked up all kinds of alien dust poisoning us. The government ain’t doing nothin’.” Charlie gestured with his chin toward the television. “They’re denyin’.”
“Oh Charlie, your conspiracy theories.” His wife rolled her eyes. “It’s pretty!”
He brayed in annoyance, tall ear twitching. With a stomp of his hoof, he turned from the window. “We best be going. Those two are agettin’ ripe.”
The bodies of Charlie Dell and his wife sat unmoving in their recliners in front of the television, coated in a fine layer of glittering dust.
