If you were sent to Coventry during World War II and perhaps went for a look around the cathedral, you could have ended up in difficulty thanks to the Luftwaffe, but it's not the worst city in Britain. It's not even the worst city in the Midlands. That's right, Derby, I'm looking at you.
If you really wanted to ostracise someone you would send them to inhospitable Carlisle or even the Jeremy Kyle Show street theatre capital, Doncaster.
