Masters of Prey
If I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.
Pondering where would this unseen Lord take his soul, he looks to his closet. Which one of these Masters of the Universe would be the Lord to take my soul? Where would it be taken? Why?
So many questions swimming in this child's mind, all from mommy's bedtime prayer.
I'd want to go with Darth Vader, he's a Lord, he thought as he drifted off to sleep.
The closet rattled enough to wake the boy. His eyes widened. "I'VE DIED?" As he watched the coffin close.

@scribbler, I'd forgotten to mention, yes dark. I'm a bit hesitant about writing ones where children die just on the account one of the readers could have lost a child and I'd feel horrible at bringing up a memory like that.
I'm a huge fan of horror movies (well movies in general lol, but I think it's the reason most of mine lead to death and there's rarely humor.)
