Something in the black

There's something happening out here, in the black. We're currently in orbit around Jupiter, keeping station with Europa base.

The crew are reporting seeing things outside. At first, I thought, sitting in what amounts to a tin can for two years was to blame. I've since re-assessed that ascertain, having seen something myself.

In old oceans of Earth, sailors would report leviathans of the deeps. Mermaids, kelpie and other mythical creatures.

Seems that space is not without its leviathans of the deep.

The object approached us at approximately oh three hundred. It probed the aurora shield briefly, then left.
