Land of Helpless Fury

I am aware of slogans of hatred - thinly-veiled sleeves with vile, twisted messages of blame, and wonder, what is it about the 'little inlander' that promotes a mind so quick to rally and scapegoat, rather than work together to prosper all?
Truly, we're in the Dark Ages. Did we ever even leave?
Did we ever ask the question?
How could it be if people helped each other instead of days spent promoting venom and fury?
We fight away the days between us, seeking an edge for ourselves.
Unkind people reach into our helplessness - exploiting it soundly to own ends
