The saloon was in full swing, with most of the copper miners jammed in for a night of drinking, gambling and carousing before crashing into bed for a few hours and then heading back down into the mines at sunup.

Stan hadn't been in town too long and was still trying to get to know everyone. Most were good people, they just liked to get a little rowdy when they got off work. They rarely had much trouble, other than some miner or cowboy having a little too much to drink and having to be forcibly removed from the saloon...
