They eventually moved past where I was hiding in the bushes. I eased out and started toward the house. I ducked behind trees, crisscrossing the lawn until I got to the corner of the house. It was a large white two-story dwelling with stucco siding and a red terra cotta roof. I came up on two sets of giant barn doors that must have led to the garage. There was a small door on the side by the barn doors, which wasn't locked.
I was right. There were two cars in the garage: a Rolls-Royce and a Cadillac...

Btw, I forgot to congratulate you on passing the 300 mark. That’s over 30k words... but seems so many more. That’s the great thing with drabble stories, you have to write your tale with economy and regular ‘come ons’/cliffhangerettes to keep the readers engaged. A pint that thinks it’s a quart... or even a whole gallon!

Thanks. I briefly thought about it when I typed it in but I was too busy trying to get the night's postings done to dwell on it! And yeah, it definitely alters the way you write doing it in this format. But I love it.
