Requiem For A Stripper #1

by

A bullet whizzed past my head as I took refuge behind a stack of wooden crates. I heard further bullets as they buried into the sides of the boxes. The smell of gunpowder was wafting through the warehouse. There were two men after me and they came in from opposite sides. I knew they were trying to squeeze me in a pincer movement.

You might wonder how someone gets themselves into a predicament like this. Well, ask anyone and they'll tell you that Jake Randolph is frequently in jams like this.

That wouldn't be a problem... except I'm Jake Randolph...

This is the 8th Jake Randolph tale I've posted here. I have a bunch of others on my computer that I started and never finished. I figured the only way I would stick with this one was to go ahead and start posting it. I haven't finished it yet. I don't even think I'm halfway. But, I'm gonna slide out on a limb and hope it doesn't break!

As good as if it was the first … carry on please and let’s hear more about Jake. I myself have found myself starting partway through the whole story, and it does give you the opportunity to add in the unexpected turn of events!

Well, this is the first one of this story. I sometimes use the first drabble in a Jake story with a scene near the end. It gives me something to write towards. I haven't gotten that far in the writing yet, so it helps to arbitrarily have a scene already done near the end to build towards. All these stories stand alone. I try to write each one as if the reader has never read any of the others.

Yet another cracking start to yet one more Jake Randolph story, Christopher! An instant action set-up that promises some fun gritty reading! And your inbuilt humour! ...and I love the title, of course!😁
Richard...Christopher’s Jake Randolph stories are terrific, and by searching Jake Randolph in the search bar I am sure they will all pop up as a list, and then if you select a particular J R story title, that whole story will pop up. But then I guess I’m trying to tell granny to suck eggs, so apologies for that.🥴

Thanks, Neville. August would've been two years since the last Jake story ended. I can't believe it's been that long.
