"Now," Sperry said, "you look like a man who wouldn't pad the bill so I'm going to give you an unlimited expense account, since Mason will have to be tagging along. But I expect receipts and an itemized account of every expense."
I nodded, "Do you have any other information about your fiancee? Like where she originates from or any old friends?"
He got up and went to a desk in the corner and grabbed a Manila folder. He came back and handed it to me.
"Every last thing I know about Lily, which isn't much, is in that folder."

As Neville can attest to, I do thorough research on these stories. I even looked up Manila folders to find out when they originated. It was invented in 1930 in the Philippines, hence the name Manila, as it was Manila hemp that was used in the making of the folders. Just a little useless trivia there, but I must say I've learned a lot from writing these stories.

Indeed, Christopher, and I’ve learnt something new too; thanks for that.
And a quick aside to Jake... make sure you charge the geezer for everything, but just get those receipts. Spoken by a true adman!

Hehe! People that rich tend to be misers, but I figured Sperry would think that Jake needed a little wiggle room with the expenses since he'd have someone in tow. But I knew he'd also expect evidence of the purchases!

I never cared to know the Filipino link to Manila folders. Thanks, Christopher.

No problem, Verity.
