I stood there staring down the barrel. There were multiple targets, all in motion. Sweat was dripping off my forehead and into my eyes. But I was being counted on to complete this mission. And I wasn't about to fall short.
I steadied myself and pulled the trigger. The first target dropped. I continued until all the targets were down. Every last duck.
"Very good, mister, you won the lady a kewpie doll!" the man said as he reached behind himself and got an ugly little doll off the shelf and handed it to my companion.
"Oh, Jake, it's lovely!"

Well, here it is. Lucky number 7 for Jake. I'm right in the middle of writing this so I'm stepping out on a limb by starting to post it. But i need the pressure to make me actually finish it.

Bravo! It’s a lovely start, Jake, but methinks it ain’t gonna be so lovely real soon. Hope his companion ain’t hurt in whatever shenanigans are coming your way🤞
Bravo Christopher too. Hopefully this is also going to kickstart me into action on you know what!🤞

Great and so, so nice! I loved the description of Jake looking down at the barrel. Obviously, being sometimes totally unimaginative, I first thought of something more sinister 😎😉
