Biography #1

by

Jake joined the US Army at 20 years old in 1942 at the start of the USA's involvement in World War II. He returned to Los Angeles, his hometown, at the end of the war in 1945. His Army buddy, Jim Harrigan, joined the Los Angeles Police Department, while Jake opted to go into business for himself, opening a detective agency.

After a case in 1950 Jake came into a large sum of money (a quarter of a million dollars), and began making substantial business investments. Before long his money was working for him instead of the other way around...

This is for the benefit of anyone who will read my upcoming Jake Randolph story (which, in the absence of Drew, will probably only be Neville). I've written six Jake tales so far (the upcoming one being the seventh), and they aren't chronological. I bounce around his timeline with the different stories so I thought a refresher might be in order.

This is the order they were posted and when they were actually set...

    1. Jake Randolph, Private Investigator (1950)
    2. The Naked Beat (1959)
    3. Origins (shifting between 1945 and 1962)
    4. Bourbon On The Rocks (June 1949)
    5. Tiki Moon (September 1949)
    6. The Littlest Client (February 1951)

And the upcoming one, The Eternal Night, takes place around March 1956.

You forgot me, Christopher! šŸ˜ŠI'll forego sleep if I have to, but I am here to stay. There was a draught in my brain, I could not think of anything to write but I beat it. It is about time I take my place back amongst the master drabblers šŸ˜

P.S. I thought the name was familiar. Now I remember who is Jack Randolph.

Thanks, Frenchie and Firefly. I was thinking about who traditionally voted for the drabbles in the Jake series and it was generally only Drew and Neville, but I welcome anyone who wants to read it.
