Gangster George "Bugs" Moran watched from across the street as four men dressed as police officers entered his headquarters on North Clark Street in Chicago, Illinois. The pseudo officers lined seven of Moran’s henchmen against a wall and shot them to death, at the order of rival gangster "Scarface" Al Capone.
The murdered men included Moran’s best hitmen, Pete and Frank Gusenberg. According to reports, Frank was still alive when the real police arrived on the scene. When asked who had shot him, the dying Gusenberg kept the code of silence, responding, “No one, nobody shot me.”
