Tiki Moon #9

by

The phone could be in someone else's name, the landlord or the father of one of those kids. But I got a good enough look at all the guys there to know whether or not one of them turned out to be the man I was meeting at the Tiki Moon.

I turned and walked across the sand toward my car when I heard a girl yell, "Hey, Morton, where's the salt?" as she stood there flipping a fish filet.

I saw the one she addressed as Morton as he brought her a salt shaker.

Okay. One more to go...

Sorry. A little play on words there with Morton's Salt. I assume my friends across the pond have that there too.

No Morton’s Salt over here Christopher as far as I know. Our most famous old brand is Saxa. Appreciate the humorous nod though!

I would've thought you'd have Morton's Salt over there. The picture on the front is the same as it was 70 years ago. A drawing of a little girl holding an umbrella with the slogan "When it rains it pours."

No, no Morton's over here. The two top historic UK brands were/are Saxa and Cerebos. The Cerebos UK slogan was 'See how it runs' ... not so different to Morton's. Not sure who's aping who.

According to Wikipedia, Cerebos started in 1894 with the slogan 'See how it runs' because of the anti-caking agent it incorporated. 'Caking' had always been a problem for salt I guess.

    ...not that I'm being competitive!

Talking of competitive, I just watched the USA Women’s footy squad annihilate Thailand women 13 to nil in the World Cup in France. What an amazing team. Well done them! ⚽️ 🇺🇸

Cool. I don't follow the sport, but good on 'em.
