Cat Got Your Tongue?
Tim went to buy a dog at the local pet store. The shop's owner looked frazzled.
"What's wrong?" Tim asked.
"This dog! He can speak but he only does it around me! I thought I'd make a killing with him but he won't talk around anyone else! It's driving me mad!"
Tim thought he was insane and said he'd give him a thousand dollars for the dog, just to patronize him.
"I'll take it! I want him outta here!"
Later in the car the dog turned to Tim and said, "Thanks. I think that pet shop owner's off his rocker!"

This sounds like an old joke but it was inspired by the old Looney Tunes cartoon about the man who had a frog who would sing and dance with a cane and a top hat but wouldn't do it when anyone else was around.
