I knocked on the door a few times and it opened. The woman behind it was indeed Rose Pepper, but she bore little resemblance to the Rose Pepper in the photograph. This version of Rose was glamorous, with not one of her curly hairs out of place. Her makeup was impeccable and she was wearing a white lace nightgown with a white silk jacket over it.

“Hi,” she said in a sultry voice, “you must be Jacob Randall.” Madeleine must’ve phoned ahead and told her the phony name I had used.

“Please come in.”

Said the spider to the fly…

    Oh this is getting interesting. Nice little c’mon for tomorrow’s postings. This is a really enjoyable story Christopher. You know how to twist and turn a yarn. 🙂

    Thanks, Neville. I'm almost to the point where I've posted everything I have pre-written so I've got to haul ass this weekend and try and finish writing it!

    I got to that point myself a couple of days ago with my one Christopher. I suppose I should write it down in advance, but I don't want an hiatus and concomitant loss in momentum.

    Haha. Well at least I’ve taught you something! (But Mrs H would say I’m being a showoff...but that’s because she doesn’t know the meaning!)
