My family was all gathered together for the Thanksgiving holiday. My mom had spent days preparing the food, so by the actual day she was almost too tired to eat. But eat we did. A bountiful feast. Later, a heated game of Jenga was played. I, who usually wins, seemed to have a bit of a shaky hand this holiday season.

After the games we sat around the table discussing various things. The subject of assets came up, to which my dad replied from his La-Z-Boy in the living room:

"My ass sets right here in this chair!"

Haha! Nice one Christopher. I hope your Jenga hands have been steadied now and have not collapsed long term. La-Z-Boy sounds really comfortable. The name reminds me of when at the start of my career, RJ Reynolds asked us to launch a brand of dessert called My-T-Fine. That kind of name was My-T-Crap over here and it was a great flopperoo.

Drew, he isn't quite as sharp as he was when I was growing up, but he still can come up with a good one when he needs to! Thanks.

Thanks, Neville. La-Z-Boy is the most popular recliner in the States and has been for many decades. My-T-Fine sounds like one of my sponsor drabbles! As far as my Jenga hands go, maybe they'll be steadied before Jesus' birthday comes around (which is the next family get-together)!

Christopher, My-T-Fine is still around. It’s now owned by Jel-Sert of West Chicago, but I am sure that RJR owned it back in the day. They owned another flopperoo in the UK, which deserves a drabble in its own right. Look out for it. I’ll try not to slag off too much the US ethnocentricity back then!

    I'll look forward to it!

Let me think on it, Drew. Maybe I can come up with something. I might use My-T- and something else to avoid ripping off an actual product. My-T-Good, maybe?

Apparently My-T-Fine is a latter day rival copy of the innovative Bird’s Custard Powder, so beloved in the UK. I have a couple of tins of it in my larder!

Neville, I looked up Bird's Custard Powder online. I like the slogan on their tin, "You make it special..."

Nice one Christopher. Good research. Check out the packaging of my absolute favourite brand (for which I also used to manage the advertising) Lyles Golden Syrup. The tin is glorious British icon (now I’m going to write a drabble about it!). It features a dead lion with a swarm of bees encircling it and a Bible quotation (Judges) ‘Out of the strong came forth sweetness’. And the contents of the din are divine! 🙂

    Tin, not din of course....

That looks cool, too. They have it on Amazon. I might try it. But I don't think I'll try Lyle's Black Treacle. It looks like motor oil!

It may look like motor oil, but it’s delicious too, oh yes!

    Is it?
