Rivers looked puzzled, "Mine? Well, I swear, Jake, it's not me."

"Did you hire someone to kill Sharkey?"

He laughed. "Jake, I'm living on disability. I barely have enough money to survive. You think I've got money to hire a damned hit man?"

I put my hand on Rivers' shoulder. "I guess not. Do you need me to get you anything, Lieutenant?"

Rivers smiled. "No, Jake. It was good to see you again."

I nodded. "I wish you all the best, Frank."

I turned and walked away...

Oh...now I'm wondering if Rivers really is crocked or if he's gonna spring something on Jake next. I don't trust the Nazi-lovin' bastard. But it ain'tRivers, but it's you who've got me hooked here Christopher. Next please!

Thanks, guys. I'm almost done writing the story, so hopefully I'll be able to post more drabbles each night. I had to slow down because the postings had almost caught up with what I'd written.
