"Well," I said, "she hadn't done anything wrong so she wasn't charged. But she went wherever it was they took her father for trial. I don't know what became of her after that."
Rebecca nodded, "Okay, but all of that still doesn't explain how you got shot this time."
"Oh, well, that starts a new chapter, doesn't it?"
