He smiled, "I started out as a runner for a bookie. Before long I was running the operation. Then I branched out into the loan shark business. That's where I made my name, literally. Yeah, I didn't like it at first, but I've lived with it so long now it's a part of me, ya know?"

"Understandable," I said. "I'm quite sure it's a well-deserved moniker."
