I'm in the wilds of Africa, stalking my prey. It's a dangerous task, but necessary. Not a job most people want, but I do it gladly.

Elephant poaching is a big business, you know? Ivory is a sought after commodity and a very lucrative industry. Sure, it's killing off the elephant population of the world, but what's the old saying? You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs.

My quarry was in sight, right in the crosshairs. I squeezed the trigger. The bullet ripped through my prey.

One less ivory poacher in the world. Now, onto my next target...

Probably a little too simple, but I read an article about how many elephants are slaughtered each year just for their ivory and I thought about the poetic justice of these guys getting a taste of their own medicine.

It's a very good subject, Christopher, and you had me expecting a different end until the end. Good drabble.
