On the eve of election day here in the United States, my feelings are ambivalent.
On the one hand, I'm grateful to be living in a country that can freely elect its leaders, and it also gives me a sense of hope for the future.
But on the other hand, the bigger and heavier hand, it also fills me with dread when I think of the vitriol and hatred that both sides hurl at the opposition.
You can't move forward when you've drawn a line in the sand and you can't shake someone's hand when it's clenched in a fist.

I was just getting warmed up when I hit my hundred word limit. But I think I made my point.

Good Drabble, Christopher. The behaviour seems more like a cynical Hollywood creation than the real world of the sophisticated USA. Very sad and acutely worrying for the ROW! :-(

Thank you all so much. I don't like to use this platform as a soapbox but I felt like that needed to be said.
