Mr. Li straightened out his jacket and tie and then sat on the edge of his desk.

"I will look into this matter. If Miss Chen is involved with dealing heroin, the Tong will deal with her."

I shook my head. "Mr. Li, will you do me a favor? Will you stay out of this and let me handle it? This is personal and I want to take care of it myself."

He thought for a moment and then nodded once. I had a strong sense that I could trust his word.
