I used to love the zoo. When I was a kid I was thrilled by seeing the majesty of the lions and the playfulness of the monkeys. Feeding peanuts to the elephants was always a joy.
Until they came. They decimated the Earth, destroying everything, and saving only a scant amount of humans to take back to their home world. We're scattered about their vast planet, living in cages, being gleefully gawked at by the alien populous, and occasionally tossed a husk-covered nut that probably is a close approximation to the Earth's peanut.

I liked this. Will we have a follow up? that would be quite interesting too, like, a little rebellion? Nicely written, thank you :-)

'enjoyed this reversal.

Thank you, everyone. I appreciate you reading.
Frenchie, that might be an interesting short series. I'm in the beginning stages of another series, though, so I would have to put it on the back burner for now. However, someone else is more than welcome to try to turn it into a series, or at least a one-drabble sequel.

I enjoyed the Twilight Zone-esqueness of this.

Thanks, Alex. Yeah, they covered that territory in an episode. I don't think it's a new idea for science fiction, but doing it in a hundred word drabble was the challenge for me.

I loved it, the subject matter stays relevant, and your drabble stays true.

Yes, we can be a bit extravagant thinking were always the apex species. Great idea for a drabble to take things to the next level.
Many Thanks
