Salem Town, Massachusetts
March 3, 1692
Richard the blacksmith laid his tools to rest and walked to the town square, amidst the gathering crowd. Four women were in the center of this mob, cowering, being leered at and spit upon.
The Minister stood before the horde.
"One of these ladies be a witch!" he said, practically salivating. "How do we determine whom it 'tis?"
"Burn them all! Burn them all!" the crowd chanted in unison.
Richard looked at a spectator, "Be this necessary?"
"Of course," the man said with complete honesty. "Tis the only way decent people can be sure!"

Nice, a bit Monty Python-ish, tho. Still great, within 100 words.

Being compared to Monty Python is a compliment to me, even if that wasn't the spirit in which it was intended. Thanks for reading, Iarwain.

Excellent ....... Have a drabble hone in on what are "decent people". I could say more.
Good work Christopher
