Murder Is But A Memory

by

I looked at my watch. It was 10:47AM. I could've just made it to L.A. to get the money and have been back by 5, but if they found Diana and were bringing her back to Vic, then I had to find out where they were keeping her and rescue her. I didn't trust Vic Stane any further than I could throw him.

The only thing saving Diana is the fact that Vic needed that money, and he knew one or the other of us knew where it was. I just had to get to Diana before Lanyard got Vic.

Wow, that Vic must be staneing himself at the thought of being hung out by a lanyard!

    The Punmaster strikes again!

I used to watch an old TV show from the 50s called The Lone Wolf. The lead character's name was Michael Lanyard, and I always thought Lanyard sounded like a cool name for a hit man.

Lanyard is a great name, not the least because it offers quite a few word joke opportunities. I'm finding my punster affliction a millstone around my neck. Talking of millstones, I recently read a brilliant book called The Miniaturist by so one called Jessie Burton. It's a cracking first novel that quite took me by surprise in a very good way. It's nothing like Jake Randolph though as it's set in 18th Century Amsterdam. I wouldn't have dreamed of reading it had it not been highly recommended to me. Unable to put it down it was so involving.

Wow. That sounds interesting. I'm afraid I haven't been reading much of anything lately. I have been reading the short stories of H.P. Lovecraft. I'm not much into the whole Gothic thing but I find his work to be very good, and it's something I can read in one sitting.

'Always enjoy it when drabblers provide extra insight into their process,
as in name selection here. But also what it is they are reading. Thank you
    Christopher and Neville.
