She is like the daybreak's dew
Glistening on the eager lawn
Like the cloudless sky so blue
As dark gives way to dawn
She is like a warm and cozy wind
Enveloping me on a summer morn
Like a setting sun at day's end
The moment the night is born
Like the bright and glowing stars that shine
Across the gloomy midnight sky
As sweet as the season's first wine
That thirsty lips cannot deny
Though these loving words shall never suffice
All my loving feelings to impart
Just know they're real, complete, precise
And chiseled deep across my heart

In honor of National Poetry Day in the UK, I thought I'd post a poem I've been working on for someone special. She knows who she is.

Wonderful and rich use of simile, Christopher. She's a lucky lady as well as being special. Thanks for celebrating our National Poetry Day too.

I'm so glad there wasn't a wicked twist at the end. This is heartfelt and touching. The love is palpable.
