Jerry Was Right

Jerry was a quiet guy. He didn't socialize much. Hardly spoke to any of us at work. But he would occasionally open up to me at lunch.

I asked him to the movies once and he said, "If I go to the movies I'll get shot. I know it. I can feel it."

There had been a wave of movie theater shootings lately.

Jerry was right. He did get shot at the movies. I heard it on the late news. Unfortunately, he killed 26 people and wounded 40 more before the cops finally got there and shot him to death.
