Ti meant magic, miracles, motherly, mentor and all the good things. We shared all our firsts, school, cries, laugh, and lesson with Ti
Ti became our exclamation.
She was a genius cook, math and sudoku wizard. That meant the compulsive nightstand made with puzzle books was all solved in ink.
I can't imagine what we would've been without Ti, as we owe her more daily.
A woman who we are proud of and hope to make proud by living and trying to make a difference in the world she envisioned for us.
Happy Birthday, Ti. Forever young in our hearts.

Are you there?
Will you listen?
Will you stay?...
"Hello? Grandma? Grandmaaa?"
I dial her,
"Hello?"
Like summing my million moods comes the unsaid "I'm always with you." from her voicemail.
I wait outside grandpa's door patting patterns with my feet when he calls me in. He comes to lift me, thinking I woke up to the rumbling thunder. I shake my head.
"No? Then your nosey?"
I nod. Colds are nightmares.
"Okay, sleep on my shoulder?"
"Will you sing? LaLaLal'ah"
It's the sacred notes hummed to make me sleep. A ritual on every cold/cough.
He sings.
"Grandpa? Walk?"
"Okay, Lala,Lala. Lala,Lala"
After a few minutes, he sighs into a chair, yawning.
"Grandpa...?"
The ritual begins again.
"Grandpa, it's LalaLal'ah not LalaLala"
I lulled. He still hummed in his sleep LalaLal'ah...
