Promises

They've made so many promises to me over the years. But none have ever come true, just words to placate me. What makes this time different?
They will call back, and make promises to me, and I will fall for them again. When I know I am a new years resolution, easily discarded, too complicated to solve.

And I have to make promises to myself. That I won't get frustrated. That I won't get upset. But those are even harder to keep.
I know I'm meant to be patient, not angry, with them. But I don't have any patience left.
