Obituary of a Ghost

John Ferrier died in 1953 and was exorcised in 2017. His term as chairman of the Fellowship of Ghosts and Ghouls drew universal respect for his commitment to responsible and structured hauntings: he was a firm believer in less is more and he never used a full manifestation when a simple bang or atmospheric effect would do.

‘Fright then flight’ was his motto.

He was critical of the modern fad for wandering spectres, firmly believing that ghosts should stay attached to their own locale.

He was exorcised by default when his place was demolished to make way for new flats.
