I watched her quickly cover herself up. A few strokes of bright yellow on the seemingly needy gray. I wished I could find her out in that mess she surrounded herself in and pull her out of the self portrait. Make her see what she really looked like when she entered a room. Then she'd know no matter how bright a yellow she used, watercolors always mix, always give away the backstory. I wished I could hold her by her hands and say 'darling, you're trying too hard for the masterpiece you're trying to create is nothing but your reflection.'
