Ashamed of the Normal

Today was quite unenjoyable.

It was filled with minor inconveniences of the kind that wouldn't have much affect if solitary, but when together create an overwhelming frustration.

She tried to use the vending machine, but the one bill she had was too crumpled.

The edge of her desk made very painful contact with her shin- a bruise was sure to come.

She was called into a meeting filled with tension.

One coworker stared at her with judgement for an hour.

Coming home was a relief. She turned on the news, however, and suddenly could not help feeling quite silly indeed.
