I stand at the waters edge. The waves touch my toes. My feet. Then bid a hasty retreat. Back to the endless stretching sea.
Behind me. A picnic blanket. Your pram, difficult to push over sand. And a beach to ourselves. No-one else yet up.
Exhausted from a night of crying you sleep now, lulled by the seas calming crash as it repeatedly rolls rock over rock.
I'm standing. To stop myself drifting into a much needed slumber. Gulping the ozone. Through tired tears I turn back to you. To suppress the urge to slip into the oceans embrace.

Don't do it. Suppress it! Another day will be a different day.
