Characters behind closed doors

by

46. Sweats a lot. Never had children. Amanda often feels an emptiness inside. She thinks it's related to lack of children. Her sister, Judy, has twins and a seemingly perfect life. Enjoys walking, classical music and writing lists. Does a new list daily.

Her house is painstakingly immaculate. She envies friends houses and their ensuing family clutter. Has a Dr's appointment later to talk about the sweating and is checking the time on her calendar. It looks crammed with appointments and engagements. Closer inspection reveals over half of them to be things like 'Take library books back' and 'Bin day'.

You've made your point, Lisa, women write lists too! This is a sensitive piece that oozes sadness. I feel sorry for Amanda and the humdrumness of her existence. She needs a couple of dogs to mess the place up and give her a sense of purpose - maybe something different to worry about. :-)

And promise the list thing was just coincidence- scheduled this last month (am SO organised, although possibly a witch) X

Pity, I thought there was 'counter-drabbling' going on!

Maybe you could cast a spell my way as I'm so disorganised. My story is a hand to mouth existence.

Sad, but so very true as it always has been.
