I take a picture of the ingredients, the light’s fading but I get a decent shot. Tell Twitter what I’m planning on having, and reply to the commenters. Block a man that instantly DM's me a picture of something he thinks I might prefer.
I keep taking pics throughout the making process. For the blog. Draft out a post as a smell of burning fills the kitchen. I manage to save enough scraped off the pan bottom, to get a picture for Instagram. Heavily filtered it looks almost edible. And as my stomach rumbles, I phone for a takeaway curry.

This is funny, Lisa, and you have managed to recreate in my mind that oh so familiar burnt smell when I'm preoccupied. Love the irony of it all. Must try this social media lark, I could do with ruining a few more meals! Btw, I think you meant scraped in the pen-penultimate line.

Thanks both- It IS all made up! The burning smell is how we tell when the meal's about to go on the table here so we do enjoy takeaway. (remember Wendy Craig in Butterflies? ...same cooking skills) xx
And thanks Nev - Yes- will change. Social media is time sucker & best avoided X
