I'd finished for the night. Sat at the bar. Watching. A saxophone teased out a lazy, sensual Happy Birthday. Slow enough to strip to.

Her heels glinted like shivs in the smoky basement as she stepped out of the cake. She wore a smile. Sequinned nipple tassels. And a G-string ready to be stuffed with twenties. There wasn't a guy in the joint that didn't want her.

She ignored them all. Dark eyes fixed on her target as she shimmied towards him. Blood red lips parted and brushed his ear as she delivered the bullet.
"Happy Birthday Mr B."

Great stuff, Lisa. I love the 'heels glinted like shivs' and the very visual concept of shimmying. And of course the denouement. You have a real talent for storytelling in drabbles, Lisa.

Awww thanks! I do enjoy the challenge of a word limit.

I've been writing to word limits for donkey's years, but I too find the drabble word limit highly enjoyable. I am certain that it improves my writing of longer pieces.

Yes think it does. Makes you very conscious of word choices and exactly what's relevant.

I've just started trying to take longer pieces to make into drabbles- Hones your editing skills a treat.
