Challenge

The next time they met was in the park the week after. They were going to have a sandwich together for lunch as the weather was fine. It was all fixed up on Facebook during the morning.

In the intervening week Mark couldn't somehow get her off his mind. He tried to analyse what it was that caused this. He put it down to the challenge she represented... and he couldn't resist a challenge!

As they strolled round the back of the lake in the centre of the park, Mark casually tried to take Juliette’s hand, which she quickly rejected.
