Mates from school, a solid bunch
A decade on, we'd met for lunch
Reminiscing on our careers
Chronicling the past ten years.

Drew drew drawings in a draughtsman's den
Pete pulled pints in a pub now and then
Woody took up carpentry
And Jules sold pricey jewellery.

Giles he was a farmer now
Bill got a job in a bank somehow
Steve was now a stevedore
Mac was manager of a clothing store.

But in choosing finance, I’d hit the heights
Whilst only ever working nights
Asset stripping... a fitting job
For a ne'er do well like me called Rob.
