Christmas TV viewing involves watching old movies from among the plethora on offer across a wide choice of channels. Almost no original new content.

What would it be?... biographic, fantasy, cartoon, humour, crime thriller or timeless classic? I opted for something meaty... a historical tale of power, intrigue, sex, treachery and death... littered with British actors... some of the finest of the day and the genre. I was not disappointed!

Cleopatra, Mark Anthony, Brutus and of course the ill-fated Julius Caesar, famously delivering his immortal line:

”Infamy! Infamy! They’ve all got it in for me!”

‘Carry on Cleo’. Epic!

When I first came to the UK, I discovered the Benny Hill's Carry on but I have to admit, I never saw the Carry on Cleo, which I just googled 😉and most probably will watch on youTube now.... history in any form, LOL

The Carry On films are legendary! One of the ITV channels (targeted at old folks!🥴) had a whole day of Carry On films, but Carry On Cleo was the only one with a four star rating... and it deserved it, if only for that classic ‘Infamy...’ line (I think the word joke should still work for a native, possibly accented, French speaker)
