Excess
31st October... Halloween and we needed a pumpkin, quick! I raced off and managed to grab the last unblemished pumpkin. It was a big relief, it was heavy; it was extra-large... excessively so!
Scooping out its innards, I roasted the seeds while my wife gave spooky life to the creature. With a tea light inside, it welcomed dozens of scary-looking kids up our drive to scare us into handing over sweets. Later, the pumpkin, still grinning creepily, went straight into a hot oven.
Then I wiped that excessively creepy smile off its face... pumpkin soup... also to excess!🎃

Yes, but a rather tasty poor pumpkin too... chopped onion, carrots, a whole chopped green chilli and a pompous pumpkin, puréed to purfection! With a sprinkling of sizzled sunflower seeds... smashing! 😋
