My sons know punk music is in my soul. They know my punk hero is Wreckless Eric.

I recall how my second son invited me to one of Wreckless’s living room gigs at a friend’s London house in 2010. I sang along to his old songs, chatted for ages with tea drinking Eric (not very rock’nroll!) and he signed all my albums.

So imagine my delight getting the nod that Eric was on TV last night.
Fortunes change. Eric’s gone the Whole Wide World and is now big in the States.

Wonder if my signed albums’ fortunes have changed too?

Good to know there are other Eric aficionados out there Lewis! As the late Ian Dury once said of him, “Ee’s a good boy!” When I met and chatted to Eric a number of years ago in the living room gig, he seemed a most affable and quite humble guy.... and, like the tea, that’s not very rock’nroll either! He was impressed that I regularly saw Graham Bond, whom he’d never seen himself, claiming that he (Eric) would’ve given his right arm to have done so. I pointed out that that would have robbed us of Eric’s talent!

I really don’t think you should even think about the monetary value of anything like that. The whole point of it and how you feel about it is beyond monetary value. To you.

Thanks Richard. It isn’t something that bothers or entices me🙂. I do have the odd vinyl albums that are reputedly ‘worth a lot’ e.g. The Who Sell Out, But I’ve never got off my backside to find out how much and who wants them!🥴
