Apparently, in the UK there’s a shortage of people to work in service industries like restaurants, pubs and shops.
I was walking round my local town earlier today and I saw the proof. So many shops and restaurants had notices in their windows wanting staff.
‘COOK’, an upmarket frozen meal shop wanted three. A retail sales assistant, a stock assistant and a ‘casual delivery driver’. I’m pretty casual, so I reckoned it would suit me.
I enquired inside. “Just how casual is casual delivery?” I asked, hopefully.
“Well not too bloody casual, or the stuff will defrost!” was the reply!
