When you feel at rock bottom
And your life’s in a mess
Take time to remember
The power of yes.
It’s no magic bullet
Even I will confess
But affirmative action
Begins with a yes.
It’s oft said that action
Can cure listlessness
Much better than words
Unless that word’s yes.
Walk out from your prison
Into nature’s caress
The start of your journey
To cure hopelessness.
The company of friends
Can reverse emptiness
Provided you let them
Share their happiness.
When life’s coming at you
Like a giant express
Charge right back at it
Shouting yes, yes, yes, yes!

I wrote this for a friend of mine who’s been in a rut, but looks to be on his way out of it.🤞

I’m saving this for myself too, Neville. Thank you

You’re welcome, Verity. Over the years I’ve had bouts of depression and my wife always told me that positive action, of any kind, starts kicking it into touch (hmmm, that may just be an English English rugby expression🤔). And it works. Not avoiding people or things or situations, but getting into action.

A good uplifter this one Neville ;-) Particularly like the last verse. Feels like a song.
