Pairing
“I see you’re wearing port and starboard socks today.” said my wife, looking across the room at where I was sitting.
“Oh yes.” I replied, looking down at the red sock on my left foot and the green on my right. I’d forgotten that I’d dressed in a hurry that morning, and the port and starboard socks had been at the front of my drawer.
“Any particular reason?” she asked “Planning a boat trip?”
“No... purely random.” I replied.
“Isn’t it amazing that they sell mixed colours?” she said.
“Yes.... and really surprising that I have two pairs!” I added.

I love It. 😀 i am rushing to a training this morning and while on the bus, I read your drabble. Why I am laughing? Because I had odd socks. Rushing + panic + a household full of odd pairs.
I can’t believe, I think there is a goblin tribe eating a sock per pair all over the world 🤣 -

Thanks Frenchie! The only odd things about wearing odd socks are the odd looks you might get from other people, smug that their socks match (after they’ve double-checked their own feet!)🧦

(but being annual boat user, in a very boaty resort, my port and starboard red/green mismatch was quite deliberate.)
